What is PMDD?
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a hormone based mood disorder with debilitating symptoms in response to the normal fluctuations of the menstrual cycle. It affects emotional wellbeing, energy levels, and the way a person feels about themselves in the days or weeks leading up to their period.
It is recognised as a medical condition and anyone experiencing symptoms should always speak with a qualified healthcare professional for assessment, diagnosis, or treatment options.
PMDD is not “just PMS.” It is a severe, life-disrupting condition that often has a wider reaching affect on relationships, work, and identity.
What is Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT)?
Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) is a powerful hybrid therapeutic method that integrates elements of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and regression techniques. It is designed to help people explore their individual history that influences their thoughts, behaviours and responses. RTT is a mind-based approach that focuses on self‑understanding, emotional insight, personal development, and inner transformation.
How RTT Can Help with PMDD?
PMDD is often experienced as intense emotional shifts that can feel sudden, overwhelming, and out of control. While the natural shift in hormones plays a role, the way these emotions are experienced are also shaped by deeper patterns held within the subconscious.
Rapid Transformational Therapy offers a supportive and powerful way to explore and understand these patterns.
Through working with RTT, you can:
-
Understand the emotional triggers that intensify during your cycle
-
Uncover subconscious beliefs linked to self-worth, safety, or identity
-
Reduce feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, or emotional reactivity
-
Soften the self-judgement that can arise pre-menstrually
-
Feel more connected to yourself and your body throughout your cycle
-
Gradually build a sense of inner steadiness, even during more challenging phases
A Different Way of Relating to Your Cycle
Rather than trying to suppress or “fix” your experience, RTT and the work I provide, supports you in understanding it.
For many women with PMDD, the emotional intensity can feel like becoming a different person each month. This work helps you reconnect those parts—so you can start to feel a sense of wholeness and peace.
It is not about removing your emotions, it's about creating safety and understanding, within them.
A Supportive, Collaborative Process
RTT is a calm and respectful process where you remain fully aware and in control at all times.
You are gently guided to explore your inner world without pressure, allowing change to happen in a way that feels nourishing and supportive.
Over time, working with your cycle in this way, can lead to a deeper sense of self-trust, emotional balance, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
An RTT session is a calm, guided experience designed to help you explore the subconscious patterns, beliefs, and emotional imprints that affect your day to day life.
An RTT session is a journey inward—a chance to understand yourself more deeply, meet your emotions with compassion, and re-connect with the steadiness that has always been within you.
A typical session goes as follows:
1. Grounding and settling into the space
The session begins with a conversation to help you feel comfortable, centred, and grounded. You will talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’d like support with, this part helps your mind and body shift into a state of safety and openness
2. Guided hypnosis
You are guided into a relaxed, focused state—similar to meditation, deep daydreaming, or the moments before sleep. You remain fully aware, fully in control, and able to speak, move, or pause at any time.
This relaxed state simply helps the conscious mind quieten so the subconscious can become more accessible.
3. Subconscious exploration
Individualised tools are used to explore and understand the root cause of your emotional patterns.
4. Reframing and emotional integration
Once these patterns become clear, we begin to reframe them in a supportive and empowering way.
5. Personalised recording
After the session, you receive a personalised recording designed to support powerful change from the inner responses you explored. Listening regularly helps aid neuroplasticity—the brain’s natural ability to form new pathways.
This is a key part of RTT theory and helps the work settle into your subconscious.
